'Passing' - (a poem)

Rain
Dripping incessantly again
Grey above
A veil of cloud
Where did Summer go?
What happened to 30 degrees?
Sweating like a builder?
Panting
like an out-of-shape panther

Only a week has gone
But the heat has gone too
Replaced by TBW
(Typical British Weather)
Was Summer a dream?
Did I really burn?
It seems so long ago
So distant
An illusion

Will it return?
Unlikely
As likely as John Lennon
returning to Liverpool
Or Einstein
Serving me in McDonalds
Never gonna happen
But what a great tie-in that could be…
