So far.. Suffolk.. so good.. ??

You would think that a couple who have spent the last six months being up-ended from one location to another might feel glad to be settled in one place, but it hasn’t worked out that way. We’re both a bit uneasy and uncertain. I’m sure it’ll be fine soon. I hope so, anyway, otherwise this could turn out to be a very unpleasant couple of years!
The house is fine. A bit modern and functional for our tastes, especially after a place like The Willows, but we’re certainly not lacking for room or for furnishings. There’s a nice little bit of garden out the back - big enough to be fun and challenging; small enough to be manageable.
It’s a stand-alone detached house enclosed by trees and hedges, with only five other houses in the road as we’re right on the edge of a farm. I think some of our neighbours are people who work on the farm itself, but I’m not sure. The Bannermans have kindly left us some information about the area and the people but I haven’t bothered reading through it yet as I’ve had enough to deal with, what with moving to another county and all that…
My first priority (after setting up my games consoles and finding somewhere to put a drum kit) must be to sort out my employment situation. I’m still waiting to hear about the possibility of a transfer to a Suffolk store, and in the meantime it’s taking me over an hour each way just to get to work. So I’m basically giving them the equivalent of an extra day every week, unpaid, driving.
I wish I hadn’t worked that out because it’s pissing me off.
